I was awarded a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship in 2011, I travelled to USA to research the contemporary and historical applications of architectural ceramics to understand the difference in scale and approach of restoration and new build industries in the USA compared with the UK.

I visited New York, Chicago and San Francisco to visit building and construction sites, meet the architects, makers, conservationists and historical experts working with terracotta.
